Moving data.
Changing networks.
High-performance optical communications technology for faster, more energy-efficient data centre and telecommunications networks.
About Evura Networks
Evura Networks is an early-stage venture emerging from optical communications research at UCL.
We are developing our own digital signal processing chip and complete
optical-module design for coherent optics connectivity within and between data centres and across telecommunications networks.
We aim to move useful data with less connectivity energy and recover communication in nanosecond scale when optical paths change. Through ICURe customer discovery, we are defining the first product, integration requirements and evidence needed for adoption.
Our Technology
We aim to help optical-equipment providers and
network operators meet demanding power, reach and recovery requirements. Our intended value is a DSP capability that can be integrated into future optical transceivers and networking equipment. For operators, this could support more useful capacity within power and fibre constraints.
We are seeking technical discussions and evaluation partners to agree on a relevant baseline, operating conditions and measurable acceptance criteria.
The Problem
AI and data-intensive services depend on moving data between computing resources. Optical connectivity must deliver useful capacity within power, fibre and
integration limits. When an optical path changes, the receiver may need to recover its signal-processing settings before useful traffic resumes. We are investigating which customer segment would benefit first from a new product, assessed on comparable throughput, reach, error performance, energy and recovery behaviour.
Our Solution
Evura is developing coherent receiver and digital signal processing technology toward our own DSP ASIC and complete optical-module design.
Our solution provides lower connectivity energy, rapid link acquisition after optical-path changes and useful reach over deployed fibre. Product functions, interfaces, data rate and packaging are being defined with prospective users.
Our Demo
Our real-time laboratory prototype combines FPGA-based digital signal processing with a pluggable coherent optical module.
It is a step towards the fast, energy-efficient optical links Evura is developing to connect AI infrastructure across data centres.
